Welcome to our Piper’s Landing website.  I am John Sargent, President of Piper’s Landing.  You have asked “Why Piper’s?”  I would like to tell you, from our Board’s point of view, why we think Piper’s is a wonderful place to live, and why a purchase here makes more economic sense than at most “Private Communities.”

When you’re considering the purchase of a home in a private country club community like Piper’s Landing, I know you will have many questions.  What types of properties are available? What are the amenities like? What are the fees?  You’ll probably ask every community these questions. 

But the key question to ultimately ask is “What separates Piper’s from the others?”

I believe there are two key factors that differentiate Piper’s Landing from other private golf communities.

First, due to our membership philosophy and financial structure, our community, even in economically difficult times, is financially sound. Several years ago, our property owners association (POA) and our country club merged into one entity known as Piper’s Landing Inc. dba Piper’s Landing Yacht & Country Club.  We are the only residential gated golf community in the area with this structure.  This single entity approach yields two key benefits: (a) It saves our members money on sales taxes (we are exempt on our dues and fees), and property taxes (all property taxes on the common areas of the community, including all amenities, are divided equally by the number of residents, and allocated to each member’s individual property tax bill); and, importantly, (b) All new members join our current golf members as a single class of membership and membership is mandatory, meaning that all new members must become full golf members, and everyone pays the same amount for refundable equity, non-refundable capital contribution and annual dues and fees.  No other community in the area can boast they have this unique situation.

Second, Piper’s is a community of friendly, welcoming, caring and sharing members.  Our members are there for one another if and when needed, and openly friendly and welcoming to guests and new members.  Whether it’s getting together for a round of golf on our championship course or to share a meal in our Grill Room or Dining Room from our award winning chef, there is always a friendly smile and good conversation.  Piper’s is not just a number of properties where you may occasionally see your neighbors.  Rather, it is a true community where members really care about other members and will help whenever necessary.  The selling point for Piper’s Landing is truly our members!
